The purpose of Life and Dignity Sunday is to develop a stronger Catholic voice in the public square through the growth of the Catholic Advocacy Network. Established by the bishops of Minnesota through the Minnesota Catholic Conference, the Catholic Advocacy Network provides a simple and effective way for Catholics to answer the call to faithful citizenship. The Network keeps members informed on legislative activity while giving Catholics easy and concrete ways to make a difference. Most importantly, the Network offers Catholics tools to build relationships with their legislators.
Life and Dignity Sunday functions as a parish based registration drive for the Catholic Advocacy Network. During each Mass on the weekend of October 14-15, the Network will be explained. Parishioners will then have the chance to fill out a registration card in the pew that will join them to the Network.
